We’ve had a new favorite in the kitchen for some time now. It is the garlic condiment handcrafted by the Hägele family in our region, the beautiful Hegau. We can no longer do without it in any dish and that is why we have developed a recipe that is only half as good without garlic seasoning! And that’s not an exaggeration because we recently ran out of garlic seasoning. So I had to cook without them for about two weeks. That’s fine, but when we received three new fakes and I was able to reuse them to perfect my dishes, I realized what was missing in the previous two weeks.
Why do we place so much value on the spice of garlic?
It is clear to us that there should be no additives in our food. We live as healthily as possible and have high standards for the ingredients we use to cook. The garlic seasoning meets all our criteria because, in addition to very healthy garlic, it contains the juice of fresh lemons from controlled cultivation, as well as honey from local beekeepers on the family farm. Also contains apple juice and pear juice. If you look closely at the bottle you can also see that it contains fresh herbs. A little celery completes the flavor. Thanks to the fresh ingredients and the garlic and lemon base, no preservatives are necessary. Garlic seasoning contains no flavor enhancers or other artificial substances and is rich only in plant energy.

Vegetable pan with buckwheat sprouts and garlic dressing
Sprouts and sprouts are an integral part of our diet. We try to prepare a meal for ourselves every day. In the evening we love sautéed vegetables with sprouts and here the garlic dressing really enhanced the dish. We ate this sprout dish before we learned about garlic seasoning, but it makes it so much better!
Ingredients for two people:
The sprouts
- 100 g of buckwheat (whole, available in 500 g packs in pharmacies or health food stores, for example)
- a sprouting jar (available online or at a health food store)
The vegetable
Depending on taste, ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder, coriander, cumin, ground fenugreek

Prepare the sprouts
First you need to put 100g of buckwheat in a sprout jar and leave it to soak overnight. The next day, drain the water and rinse twice a day. It is important that there is no water in the glass. You can find out exactly how to grow sprouts in this article. Fresh sprouts are produced very quickly and nutrients are significantly more bioavailable in the germinated form than in the non-germinated form. We do not recommend purchasing sprouts because they are quite expensive and you don’t know how long they have been in the store. After 48 hours you can eat buckwheat sprouts.

Preparation of sautéed vegetables
The sprouts are rinsed thoroughly with warm water and set aside. First the onion is cut into small pieces and lightly fried. Then you can add the carrots and courgettes cut into small pieces to the pan and cook them briefly. You should only add the peppers later, because if they are heated for too long they quickly lose their vitamins. Now season with garlic seasoning, salt, pepper, turmeric and herbs. Here too, you must be careful not to cook on full heat to preserve the ingredients. Sprouts are added at the end. They are folded and heated only briefly, so that they retain most of the nutrients and are still nice and crispy.
Alternative when things have to go quickly
You don’t always have time to prepare the sprouts or you simply forget to do it and still want a delicious vegetable stir-fry. The recipe works the same way with brown rice or millet. These are high-quality, satiating side dishes that contain more micro and macronutrients than white rice and therefore add value to our diet. Brown rice and millet can also be found in the organic section of the pharmacy, at the supermarket or in herbalist’s shops.

By the way, after drinking it you will no longer smell garlic and there will be no unpleasant vapors on your skin either. This is due to the special composition. We have been using garlic seasoning almost every day for over six months now and we can confidently say that there is no smell at all! Those who have acquired a taste can order the garlic seasoning here in the Hägele family’s online shop; regional readers can also purchase it at the weekly market in Hegau or in some agricultural shops. You can see where exactly here. By the way, there are more great recipes on the Garlic Seasoning Special Recipes page.
