A feast for the eyes – photo from the «Soltra» nursery

Who went to kindergarten»Soltra«, knows that there you can not only buy plants, but also treat your eyes.

This year Soltra will decorate the conference with its plantsGarden style«, so preparing for the conference was a great opportunity to go there, choose plants and look around. Thank you Aušra for your help and advice, there is really a lot to choose from, you will see the result 🙂

And when the plants have already been selected, do you think we will miss the opportunity to browse their impressive park? Let’s go together, let’s see what a beautiful garden with a pond, cultivated for many years, looks like. If you are only interested in color matching, below are some completely different color combinations. Go to the track!

Soltra Yellow Wheelbarrow

After landing we cross the bridge and find ourselves on the other side of the field. The sun welcomes us.

And a spectacular bright pink coneflower. It rained little, so the colors are particularly bright.

The Astilbe are already changing color. This means not one, but a whole mass! In the background are bombs, which match the colors of their inflorescences beautifully. They are also perennial ornamental herbaceous plants that will rear their heads next year. Both astilbes and cambers require good soil and at least some shade.

Combination as in the photo:

We reach the external room. The space really has the shape of a room: there is an entrance and also three green walls 🙂 Enter and admire, I would say this preserved English style:

Also invite guests into another room 🙂 At the entrance we are greeted by a romantic mosaic. The regular shape of a circle – the circle of eternity – a classical symbol – perhaps what else can it mean?

In the «room» the circle is repeated and is further strengthened by a round-shaped pergola. Kids would say you have to go around that center three times and your wish will come true 🙂

Did you notice the color?

And here’s the view from another angle. Hmm, it turns out that not everything is so innocent, there is a lot of drama here 🙂

Soltra Yellow Wheelbarrow

Are we traveling further? Shall we sit on the bench?

Take a look at the beauty behind the bench 🙂 The phloxes surprise with their ultra neon color, the hydrangea has not grown yet and the hillocks are still quiet now. We know they will lighten things up with their rosy flowers when the phlox sheds the last of its stage clothes.

Soltra Yellow Wheelbarrow

Did we mention interesting colors? How do you like this chocolate? Although a Lithuanian with a traditional approach will not understand why photograph brown astilbe flowers here, lovers of naturalistic style will find peace of mind here. And you?

And a dozen steps further: another shot of completely different colors. Designers say not to overdo the purple plants. Here are some nice combinations:

And immediately behind them, so as not to darken the eyes too much, everything is connected by rich rain-tinged greenery with fruity white hydrangeas and blue-white stripes. Shade plants, a classic combination, you can never go wrong.

And having turned the wheel, we return to the other side of the peat, where a slope is reinforced with stones in the company of dry-loving plants. Imperceptible:

We climb these stone steps, go back and there –

Rudbeckias are so bright and so beautiful that it is impossible not to notice them. Apparently, this is common to everything yellow. Hmm, if we put another yellow wheelbarrow somewhere in the background, it would really dazzle your eyes 🙂

Keep traveling. In the distance you can still see the smiles of the rudbeckias, and here we are greeted by a perfectly pruned yew hedge and a huge yew stump. The yew grows very slowly, so obviously it takes years to grow such beauties. «Soltra» is not a beginner, so you can already boast of mature, well-groomed plants in your park. This is very useful if you are simply choosing plants and want to see how they will look growing «free» instead of in a pot.

Note the sedge hedge on the right. It is especially popular in Scandinavia, often grown in European parks, and in Lithuania it still struggles to find its way into the hearts of gardeners. It is a reliable and undemanding plant, an excellent alternative to bored thuja.

The image is like that of a black and white film, where there is only black and white. And green, of course:

And finally: the form of the white-flowered echinacea. Just a wonderful farewell bouquet.

Thanks for the company, it’s fun to walk together 🙂

Nursery «Soltra” is located in the Trakai district, and the conference “Garden style» will take place in Trakai, «Start». Even if the distance is small, it will take a lot of effort to move the plants there so that we can decorate them beautifully. We look forward to seeing you at this great fragrant event!
