Harvest wild garlic in March

It is best to harvest just one leaf per plant and then move on to the next wild garlic plant.

Three poisonous plants with which wild garlic could be confused:

  1. Lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis): The leaves of lily of the valley are similar to those of wild garlic, but are stiffer and do not have the typical garlic smell. In addition, lilies of the valley often grow in dense bushes and have white bell-shaped flowers.
