The different types of above ground swimming pools

Freestanding swimming pools
Freestanding pools are a classic of the Intex brand. They consist of a PVC covering topped with an inflatable tube. To install, simply inflate the tube and fill it with water. The pool rises as it fills. Installation of the swimming pool is therefore very simple and quick: from 10 to 45 minutes depending on the model.
The so-called «bouncy» Intex pools can be round or oval and measure from 2.44 m to 4.57 m.

Swimming pools with metal structure (tubulars).
Tubular pools are made of a PVC liner supported by a metal structure. For installation, simply hook up the pipes and fix the covering. This type of pool is simple and quick to install: from 30 minutes to 1h30 depending on the model.
Tube pools can be round or rectangular in shape. The Intex brand tubular pools measure from Ø 2.44 m to 7.32 m for the round ones; and from 2.20 x 1.50 m to 9.75 x 4.88 m for the rectangular ones.
The height varies from 76 cm to 1.32 m.
Expect: A flat plot of land or a concrete slab, with a tarp under the pool.

Wooden swimming pools
Wooden swimming pools are made up of autoclave-treated wooden planks, fitted together on which a liner is fixed. Installation takes some time. It takes 1 to 2 days for 2 or 3 people.
Wooden swimming pools are available in different shapes: hexagonal, octagonal, rectangular, square. They measure from Ø 4 m to Ø 7 m for octagonal or hexagonal shapes. For rectangular or elongated octagonal ones, 3.50 to 5 m wide and 3.5 to 15 m long.
Their height varies from 1.20 m to 1.55 m.
To improve comfort and aesthetics it is possible to create a raised wooden terrace, at the height of the copings.
Expect: A concrete slab or earthworks + a slab + backfill soil (if semi-buried)

Their height varies from 1.20 to 1.35 m.
